Horse Racing - The 156th Melbourne Cup

Melbourne Cup 2016

The Melbourne Cup is one of Australia's most prestigious Thoroughbred horse races. It is a 3,200 meter race for three-year-olds and over. It is the richest "two-mile" handicap in the world, and one of the richest turf races. Conducted annually by the Victoria Racing Club on the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Victoria, the event starts at 3pm on the first Tuesday in November and is known locally as "the race that stops a nation".
The first race was held in 1861 over two miles (3.219 km) but was shortened to 3,200 metres (1.988 mi) in 1972 when Australia adopted the metric system. This reduced the distance by 18.688 metres (61.312 ft), and Rain Lover's 1968 race record of 3:19.1 was accordingly adjusted to 3:17.9. The present record holder is the 1990 winner Kingston Rule with a time of 3:16.3.

  1. Thanks Jeremy awesome write up
Sheikh who owns Hartnell is attempting 19th bid to win maiden Melb cup. 19 like 109 you mentioned. 😀

  2. Jeremy here is where you messed up on the Vikings pick. Jay Cutler got his 38th win. Not Gloating or anything EVERYONE had the Vikings winning. 93% of Money was on the Kings. Plus 103 days after Dennis green death to get the 27h win 27 prime is 103. Cubs ended with 103 wins

    3. I wish I knew about Halas's death anniversary before Chicago was up 13-3 and Minn was hopeless already. I would like to know if WarriYah knew chicago would win before the game started or after, cuz I knew they won at midnight also.

    1. I'll decode as much as I can, already have some of the horses done from the Kentucky Derby so that helps. CC for 33 does make a lot of sense

    2. There actually are no derby horses in it this year unless you count chrome who won in 2014. I'm pretty good at picking horses just off the form, pace etc. before I knew how corrupt sports is. There are 13 races. I doubt all of them are fixed. I would think these rich owners would like some genuine competition. But the CC 33 really stood out

      Delete
    3. I was thinking Nyquist would run, but I guess he withdrew. So there are 13 "major" races each year?

    4. 13 Breeders Cup races. 4 on Friday and 9 Saturday. I'm just going to handicap it straight up but keep an eye out for anything suspicious. In the Travers this year Baffert put in this horse Arrogate who had only won allowance races and he won by 13.5 and set a track record at 11-1. Then I saw the meaning of Arrogate is to claim or seize without justification lol. He is also the main threat to Chrome. I guess the way they do it is to just drug up the ones they want to win. They like to bust these little Mexican trainers for it all the time to give the appearance they are cleaning it up but I suspect they let the big boys like Baffert get away with it. Still most races seem to follow form and you can find some sneaky longshots especially on the big days when the favorites always get overbet

      Delete
    5. Do you have good results using Gematria for it?

      Delete
    6. I have been decoding the horses pretty much exclusively over the past couple of months, and literally every single winner of every single race on every single track in the country is coded up with numerology/gematria (even at the lower tier tracks). Problem is, usually multiple horses have numerological paths to victory, as even the place and show horses are generally coded up, and they like to throw red herrings in as well. But name me any winner at any track and I can tell you why they won, by the numbers. It's often quite mind boggling. It goes as deep as the race number, the horse's lane, the post time, the purse, etc.

Going along with that 49 Brad mentioned, horses with ties to revelation should do very well this weekend (revelation = 49 pyth). On Friday Santa Anita's previous birthday will be 10 months 10 days ago, and their next will be in 1 month 21 days. Of course revelation = 1010 jewish/121 simple. Chrome was born on the 49th day. Saturday also has a date numerology of 16, and it would be Chrome's 16th career win, his 6th win of the year, along with the $6 million purse, his maiden race was on the 116th day of the year, and he has a life path #6. That said, Arrogate has decent connections too, so I usually try to stay away from large favorites when that is the case, especially since Chrome will probably be -200 or worse by race time.

There is a decent narrative that the 3 favorites will go 1-2-3, as Arrogate would be 4-1-1 with a Place finish, and he has a 4/11 birthday, and Frosted would be 6-6-3 with a Show finish, and 2-0-2 on the year, and he will be 1663 days old on raceday (counting end), and his birthday will have been 202 days ago (counting end). That said, I haven't been doing this that long so I'm not sure how likely that scenario is, since I imagine the books would lose out pretty big in that case.

    7. I dont doubt it but couldn't you always find connections if you look hard enough? If they just do it for the top 3 that's even better cause you can hit trifectas. Are you looking at the other BC races besides the Classic? Please share some picks if you have any. I have been profitable just playing straight off the form but some races are puzzling, maybe this is why

    8. Certainly, but the connections are put there. If you mean couldn't those connections be found for every horse, the answer is no, generally the horses who lose either have numbers pointing to the loss, or are simply devoid of numbers. It's crazy. I haven't had much success with trifectas, because they generally throw a red herring in there, spotting it is possible but can be quite difficult, making trifectas a tough prospect. Daily doubles on the other hand.

Problem is I know very little about horse racing; could definitely use someone with success on a more traditional handicapping basis. I haven't gotten nearly as far with the other races as I'd wanted to, just finished the Classic, but plan on doing a few more. Only so much time... damn if we just had a team of people, or a programmer.

    9. What would be the first things to look for? Is the birthday matching up with race record the main thing? Cause yeah there can be some many different angles it would take forever just to do one race. I'm going to start handicapping tomorrow. Got big $ on Cleveland tonight. Do you have a facebook?

    10. I actually find overall age matches to a horse's own numbers to be the most reliable, but really the winners generally have at least one major sync with each facet: age, date, race #, lane #, record, and post time/purse.

What is your read on Cleveland? I haven't even looked at baseball in months. No facebook, but give me a shout at my email, nyybernie@hotmail.com (from my sports fan days, ha).

    11. But wow guys, I found MAJOR super bowl tributes for Friday and Saturday, that point to Arrogate possibly winning. So Friday, the start of horse racing's WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS happens to be a date with 51 numerology, in the year of Super Bowl 51. Santa Anita's birthday ALSO just happens to be 51 days away. On Saturday, a date with 52/25 numerology, the Super Bowl on 2/5 is 13 weeks 1 day away! The Championship #. Arcadia's last birthday (their 113th) was 13 weeks 1 day ago, putting the races on Saturday smack dab in the middle! Arrogate = 131 with the inverse method (a=26, b=25, etc). Arrogate is trying to go 5-0-1 with a win, and Chrome would be either 5-1-0 or 5-0-1 this year with a place or a show. Arrogate = 510 english (his 5th win, in lane 10) and has a 51 life number this year, California Chrome = 501 hebrew, and has a 51 life number! This is insane.

    13. Its crazy just when you think you found how deep the scripting goes it goes deeper. The good news is we can profit! I thought the CC 33 Chrome thing was a lock but Arrogate does mean to to claim or seize without justification! The Cleveland pick is kinda going out on a limb cause most Gematria ppl like Cubs. But I think I'm on to it. There are a lot of sneaky reasons and it ties into Trump winning. I made posts about here as liberty lover https://numbersneverlie.org/2016/10/26/hoax-propaganda-gone-viral-insinuating-cubs-will-be-2016-champions/

  7. Yeah that was a close finish and I had the winner only because this horse beat protectionist in Germany and in that same year protectionist won the Melbourne Cup so the form for Almandin looked good to win this race. Not sure what the numbers were showing but maybe they will lead to it's racing in Germany? I also had Hartnell as I took 3 horses like I always do.

You did a great job Jeremy in the time you had to try and decode the race.
